fashion and coffee

Everyday we meet lots of new people through work, childhood, and certain instances that we just can’t miss. Then, as we progress through life itself, we find ourselves immersed by a number of beautiful and not-so-beautiful people haggling inside our lives. There are a number of these people who would interfere with our daily choices, life options, and even the food were about to take; there are also those who would just be there like lamp posts standing just to keep us company; and there are those who would even try to bring us down to the brink of self-destruction. But, somewhere along between the lines of friendship, we would meet those we can jive, work, play, and be ourselves; those who we can really consider as “friends”.

I heard this story three months ago of three individuals who has a passion for coffee and fashion. One of them considers himself/herself as a fashion guru, who knows and thinks like a fashion stylist of Vogue, and Elle. Then the two others, who also knows fashion inside and out that they started an online shopping through the wonderful worlds of Facebook and Multiply; one sells Pret-o-Porter, and the other, fashion accessories. But all three of them immersed themselves through chats, gossips, and fashion ideas with a cup of their favorite brand of coffee: Starbucks.

But 2 years ago, they’re just common people among common individuals of an IT company. They go on with their own lives, not wanting to be part of each other due to irreconcilable differences. But, as the weeks, and months progresses, two of them started to build a bond for each other. A bond that would take the both of them on a whirlwind adventure of self-discovery and a stronger friendship. After a year, the “fashion guru” resigned from the company making his/her friend, the “fashion accessories” alone, ready to be breached by others. And, that’s what really happened, for even before she met the “fashion guru”, she already had a set of friends whom she knows she can trust. Apparently, that’s not the case, for certain mishaps turned their so-called friendship upside down, leaving her alone and vulnerable. But, the good thing is, “fashion guru” is just around the corner, being able to lend a shoulder to cry on. Then, “fashion accessories” met “pret-o-porter”, making three fashion enthusiasts met each other and started a bond that lasted like it has been going on for years.

Through their love for fashion and coffee, the three of them now see a clear picture of what their bond is all about. Through idle chats and steamy gossips, each of them open their own worlds to one another without judgement and fear. Sometimes we are so afraid of telling every bit of ourselves, for fear of being unaccepted and mistrusted, whom most people occasionally does. But with these three friends, they’ve gone through a lot of trials and challenges that truly tested their capabilities as individuals, and as friends, making them closer than ever before.

Those three friends, are none other than me, mhay, and magi. Here is a photo of the both of them.

the left one is “pret-o-porter”, and the right one is “fashion accessories”, my picture? nah.

Kudos to the three of us, and more people may join through our love for coffee and fashion.
